DAVID BALTIMORE, Ph.D. (Chairman)
President Emeritus, California Institute of Technology
Dr. Baltimore is one of the co-founders of Calimmune, and serves as Chairman of the Board. He is President Emeritus of Caltech, and served as president of Rockefeller University from 1990 to 1991. He was also president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
In 1975, he shared the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Howard Temin and Renato Dulbecco for the discovery of reverse transcriptase, which is essential for the reproduction of retroviruses such as HIV.
Dr. Baltimore has influenced national policy concerning recombinant DNA research and the AIDS epidemic. He is a member of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' Board of Sponsors, the National Academy of Sciences USA (NAS), the NAS Institute of Medicine (IOM), Amgen Board, BB Biotech AG Board, the NIH AIDS Vaccine Research Committee (AVRC), and numerous other organizations and their boards.
LOUIS BRETON (Director)
Chief Executive Officer, Calimmune, Inc.
Mr. Breton is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Calimmune, Inc. Prior to Calimmune, Mr. Breton co-founded CellzDirect, a primary hepatic cell and specialty service biotech firm that was acquired by Life Technologies in 2008. Mr. Breton was a founding member of Integrated Commercialization Solutions, a subsidiary of Bergen Brunswig (now Amerisource Bergen). In his previous consulting career, he provided commercialization support to Fortune 500 corporations as well as innovative start-ups. He is a past board member of the Arizona Governor's Bioindustry Cluster. He is also a past board member of the University of Arizona Steele Children's Research Center, a 501(c)3 organization that researches causes and develops cures for childhood diseases.
JON FAIZ KAYYEM, Ph.D. (Director)
Chief Scientific Officer, GenMark Diagnostics, Inc.
After earning his Ph.D. from Caltech in 1991, Dr. Kayyem remained as a Senior Research Fellow until 1995, when he founded Clinical Micro Sensors to commercialize technical innovations he developed while at Caltech. In 2000, Clinical Micro Sensors was sold to Motorola, Inc. for approximately $280 million, and subsequently purchased by Osmetech plc in 2005. In 2004, Dr. Kayyem left Clinical Micro Sensors and co-founded the biotechnology fund management company, Efficacy Capital Limited, where he served as managing partner until September 2009. Dr. Kayyem has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of GenMark Diagnostics, Inc. which he founded in February 2010, and now serves as the Chief Scientific Officer.
HARRY GEORGE (Director)
Co-Founder, Managing General Partner, Solstice Capital
Mr. George has more than 35 years of experience in founding, operating and investing in successful rapid growth technology-related companies. He co-founded Solstice Capital in 1995, which is a venture capital fund investing in early-stage life science, information technology and clean tech companies. From 1981 to 1989, Mr. George was co-founder, Director, and Vice-President of Finance for Interleaf Inc. During this time, Interleaf, a pioneer in electronic publishing, grew to be a publicly traded company with $100 million in annual revenue. In January 2000, Interleaf was acquired by Broadvision in a stock merger that valued Interleaf at approximately $1 billion. Prior to this, Mr. George was a co-founder, Director and Vice President of Finance of Kurzweil Computer Products, subsequently purchased by Xerox Imaging Systems. Mr. George has been a Board Director of at least 25 private and public companies and currently serves on the board of Lumidigm, High Throughput Genomics, Medipacs, Rehnu, Syncardia and Tempronics. Mr. George is also a member of several high profile venture capital associations.
ERIC TOOKER (Director)

Managing Partner and Manager of Translational Accelerator LLC (TRAC)
Mr. Tooker is a Manager of Translational Accelerator, LLC, a $20 million biotech venture fund in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also Executive Vice President and General Counsel of MCS Biotech Resources which provides business, legal, administrative, and support services to expert medical consultants and start-up companies. Mr. Tooker previously served as Vice President and General Counsel for Central Newspapers, Inc., until the company was acquired by Gannett Co., Inc. He has extensive experience in advising executive business teams throughout his 20 years as in-house counsel. In that role with Conseco, Inc., he served as legal counsel and business adviser for a significant private equity portfolio and led mergers and acquisitions and associated bank financings.
